Cameroonian athletes go missing at the commonwealth games in Queensland

Eight Cameroonian athletes have disappeared to “God knows where” in Queensland Australia. The athletes who went to Queensland to represent the country went missing yesterday according to the head of the Cameroonian delegation at the Commonwealth games.

It should be noted that this is not the first time athletes are disappearing during games. In 2012 during London Olympics 7 went missing. In 2006 in Melbourne Commonwealth Games, 9 disappeared.

See the disappeared athletes below:

This non-stop disappearance of Cameroonian athletes from International games attests the unstable state of affairs in the country as a whole.

CAN2019: Trouble on the Cameroon side; Project Coordinator of Olembe Stadium Marc Debandt Resigns (Full Story)

olembe stadium

There is trouble on the Cameroon side as Olembe Stadium, one of the major stadiums to host the Africa Cup of Nations 2019 has been abandoned by the Project Coordinator Marc Debandt.

Marc Debandt resigned from his position  as confirmed by the Gruppo PICCINI two days ago, that the sad news is true. Nevertheless the group has assured the population that the work on the stadium will continue without any problems and delivered on time.

Now Read the following from Gruppo PICCINI:

Gruppo Piccini S.A. announces its new organization and confirms the timely delivery of Paul Biya’stadium Yaounde February 18, 2018. Following the news reported on February 17, 2018 by some social media concerning the resignation of Mr. Marc Debandt, project manager of the Olembé Sports Complex in Yaounde,
Gruppo Piccini S.A. confirms his resignation and wishes to clarify some unfounded allegations.

In order to speed up the construction of Olembe stadium and meet the deadlines, Gruppo Piccini S.A. has readjusted his organization chart. As a result, the company decided to increase the number of the work teams so that some works will be implemented simultaneously.

It seems that Mr. Debandt, whose professional qualities as an engineer have never been questioned, did not accept this new structure and therefore he preferred to resign. Gruppo Piccini’s management could only accept his resignation.

With regards to the allegations of bribe mentioned by some social media, Gruppo Piccini S.A. categorically denies these unfounded and malicious rumors. Mr. Debandt has never been responsible for the financial management, purchases or contracts of the company.

While ensuring that the Olembe Sports Complex will be built and delivered within the agreed deadlines, Gruppo Piccini S.A. would like to point out that the resignation of Mr. Debandt have not in any way affected the rhythm and quality of the work on the Olembé site. The new teams, composed of qualified engineers and technicians are at work and the construction works continue to advance in a spirit of trust and serenity.

Samuel Eto’o seems to be eyeing Etoudi, see him gathering inspiration from his senior colleague George Weah

Eto'o Fils has eyes for Unity Palace

Within the past few weeks, Samuel Eto’o has expressed so much love and attachment to the President elect of Liberia George Weah. Many people have began thinking that the International Football Super star may have been trying to draw inspiration from his elder brother as he won the Presidential Elections. However, Cameroonians’ only fear remains whether Eto’o can attempt to copy from Liberia and paste in Cameroon without his Cameroonian passport not being seized.

Eto’o Fils eyeing Etoudi

The look on Samuel’s face seems to suggest what may be going on in his head. He may surely be thinking… “this is the way to go; I need to emulate this example. See the way this man is sitting and enjoying power now. I need to start moving towards Etoudi too. I know Cameroonians like me a lot and I am sure I will win if I stand as President. Any way let me finish with this Professional Football thing fast and also come back home”.

Eto'o wants to be preesident in cameroon

Although nothing seems wrong with this kind of thinking for a Cameroonian like Eto’o, many still think that the political terrain in Cameroon may not be as fair as that of Liberia.

It should be noted that George Oppong Ousman Weah is one of the most successful African players ever. He is holder of Ballon d’Or 1995, FIFA World Player of the Year 1996, Arthur Ashe Courage Award 2004, CAF Award for Best Ten players of the last 50 years 2008, CAF Legend award 2005, CAF Platinum Award 2018.

He is now Liberia’s Democratically Elected President and was Sworn in Yesterday in the Capital City Monrovia.

“I have spent many years of my life in stadiums, but today is a feeling like no other,” Weah said, as he thanked Sirleaf for laying the foundations on which we can now stand in peace.

Cameroon is under some kind of torture; the gods may have been angered

redhac communique falls on deaf ears

Three major sports disciplines of Cameroon have been defeated in a row within the last one week in various competitions around the world; the 2018 African Nations Championship, the Ultimate Fighting Championship in United States, and the African Men’s Handball Championship in Gabon.  Many Cameroonians are thinking aloud and asking questions whether things have fallen apart in Cameroon and the Centre can no longer hold or whether the gods are angry with Cameroon Leaders.

Firstly, Intermediate Lions of Cameroon have been kicked out of the on-going 2018 African Nations Championship in Morocco without a single point. They failed to qualify to the quarter final stage of the competition after conceiving a goal from Angola during the post-match penalty shoot-out on Saturday; and this was the second outing and second defeat for the lions since the start of the completion. The Previous game ended on a 1-0 score in favour of Congo. Rigobert Song, the Intermediate Lions’ coach has refused to give up or feel defeated; he promises victory in the next outings.

Secondly, heavy weight fighter, Cameroon born Francis Nganou has been severely beaten and defeated by his opponent. He clashed with his opponent Stipe Miocic at the Ultimate Fighting Championship in the United States of America still on Saturday. The Cameroon heavy weight boxer failed to grab his first world title. Predator as he is called came into his first title match with an immense amount of momentum, and he needed only one more victory to become the world champion. Unfortunately his dreams were dashed as title holder Stipe Miocic dealt with Nganou mercilessly thus conserving his title as world champion.

Lastly, Cameroon’s Men Volleyball Team has been chased away from the on-going African Men’s Handball Championship in Gabon after suffering nonstop defeats from other teams in the competition. The Cameroon Men’s Volleyball team was eliminated on Sunday yesterday after being defeated by Algeria, Tunisia and Congo respectively within last week.

CAMEROON: Cameroon Lawyers diversify opinions on the FECAFOOT affair

facfoot 1

The decision of FIFA in creating another normalization committee to manage Cameroon football till February 2018 wasn’t surprising to some Cameroon lawyers.

“I think that it is a matter of respect of the law because is not the first time for the Cameroonian football association to have a normalization committee, I think that Cameroonians should show that they are able to do better than before. The new committee is supposed to manage the federation until the new election. Am not surprise, am not disappointed, I just hope that things will be different from the way they were before” says one of the Cameroon lawyers Alain Nguini.

Others seem not satisfied with this decision by FIFA at a point in time when preparation for AFCON 2019 in Cameroon is generating its steam.

“CAF is doing all it has to take away the AFCON 2019 hosting rights from Cameroon if not so, what then justifies this problem which has been existing for 2 years now.Why is it only today that such allegations are being made. We may have our differences but what is important now is the 2019 AFCON. We should not be distracted with this present issue” says a diehard football fan.

Nevertheless the wish of Cameroonians is to see this black cloud pricking Cameroon football comes to an end soonest.

SPORTS: The Cameroon Football Federation FECAFOOT affair gets emotional

The Cameroon Football Federation

At the Cameroon Football Federation FECAFOOT head office in Yaounde, Security Forces deployed Wednesday to foster security and secure the building had greatly reduced yesterday. It was an emotional scene as none of the affected willing to speak to the media; getting into the building proved elusive; access was restricted as reported by equinox radio.

The Press scrambled for information following the sack of FECAFOOT Boss Tombi A Roko Sidiki on Thursday. The issue has resulted to a number of meetings in Yaounde.

The shock for FIFA to create another Normalisation committee seems to have brought government to its senses; that those who opposed the Tombi A Roko election at the time and were dismissed as pessimists, had a point.

FECAFOOT has now become a kind of Media Sensitive as unconfirmed rumours have it that FIFA may be coming to Yaounde next week to put in place the new Normalisation Committee; an exercise which observers say will likely pave the way for the most obvious succession of Tombi A Roko as President of the Cameroon Football Federation FECAFOOT.

BREAKING NEWS: FIFA enters FECAFOOT’s 18m box, dribbles the Court of Arbitration before Finally Declaring Tombi A Roko Sidiki Off-side

FECAFOOT

The Headquarters of the Cameroon Football Federation FECAFOOT has been in a tensed atmosphere with security forces notably from the National Gendarmerie and the Police surrounding the office in the Nations Political Capital Yaounde. This is coming after the World Football governing body FIFA dissolved the current FECAFOOT governing body and appointed a normalization committee to manage the affairs of the Cameroon football federation.

This is in accordance to article 14 Paragraph 1a and article 8 paragraph 2 of the FIFA status and the decision is in connection with the confirmation by the sports arbitration court of the annulment of the elections process that led to the installation of the current executive team of FECAFOOT in 2015 by the arbitration and conciliation chambers of the National Olympic and Sports Committee.

Since then it has been a very difficult task for FIFA to reconcile football stakeholders in the Country. The newly created committee will run the daily affairs of FECAFOOT and draft a new status of FECAFOOT, review the status of Regional and Divisional Leagues and ensure these is in line with FECAFOOT regulations. They will also be charged with identifying delegates of the FECAFOOT general assembly and of the Regional and Divisional Leagues; and organize and conduct elections of a new football governing executive body.

The Committee will compose of members to be identified by a joint FIFA and CAF mission to visit Cameroon in the days to come and acting.

Acting as an elections organizing committee, its members of the newly created normalization committee shall not be eligible to run for any of the open positions in the Association. The Mandate of the Committee will expire not later than February 28 2018.

This news has come as a relief to many foootball lovers like Hamadou Babba Abdouraman President of Etoile Filante de Garoua who has been at Loggerheads with the Tombi A Roko led FECAFOOT since 2015.
